Harris Named to School Foundation Board of Directors

INGLIS, FL – Jeff Harris, Plant Manager for Tarmac America, has been appointed to a four-year term on the board of the Levy County Schools Foundation. Harris’ appointment was confirmed at the October 16th Board of Directors Meeting.
“I am honored to be able to serve on the board, and I look forward to working with my fellow board members to enhance the quality of education for all students in Levy County,” Harris said. “Tarmac America believes in giving back to the communities where we live and work, those values makes my civic involvement possible,” Harris added.
In 2007, the Levy County Schools Foundation was a recipient of four Tarmac America Science Scholarships, which were awarded to one graduating senior at each of the county’s high schools.
Harris is currently working on the permitting, and engineering aspects of the proposed King Road Mine. He manages five employees from the company’s Inglis office. Harris graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mining Engineering.
The Levy County Schools Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit corporation that expands the ability of local businesses, community groups and individuals to provide scholarships and fund special programs for Levy County Students.
